About Us

I’m Lizette. I am a lover of old things and lost arts. I love to make jam and preserve foods in all kinds of ways. My deathbed last meal would be dippy eggs.

I am married to Mike. He somehow knows how to fix everything. That’s not an exaggeration. He doesn’t care for dippy eggs but I married him anyways.

We have two small hellions who have joined us on this journey and they are well on their way to lovin’ this land as much as we do.

We bought my family’s farm in 2013 and are the fourth (and fifth) generation to garden and raise animals on this farm land. We like to think we are making all those hard working  family members who came before us proud by growing and raising honest food for ourselves and our friends. We’re doing our best to make Verna Belle & Roy H. and Kenny & Peg proud.

Our bread and butter is our 100% local, old school fruit jams which we sell at the Haymaker Farmers’ Market and through a couple local retailers including Bent Tree Coffee, the Brimfield Bread Oven, and The Farmer’s Rail. We also grow specialty hot peppers and a variety of garden produce for ourselves and the market. We have chickens and we also raise heritage breed Narragansett turkeys for sale at the holidays.
