Old Timey Tuesday

And now:

The first photograph is not dated and the boy in the photograph is not identified. I assume he was a family friend or a cousin or something. In both photographs you can see (starting from the left) the chicken coop, the corn crib, a small barn, and the big barn and old milk house. In the newer photograph you can also see the milk house that was added on later – maybe the 1960s – to the right of the barn. (I have big dreams for a commercial kitchen in that space. We shall see).

See the fenced in area to the right in the old photograph? And in the new photograph you can see a lilac bush to the right. Throughout the lilac bush there are a few old fence posts – remnants of the original fence.

Now the driveway loops around so we have two entryways. In the old days it looks like the fence went all the way to the barn and the front of the barn near the road. Not sure what animals called that space home – anyone remember?

About Barton Farms and Gardens

My husband and I are bringing an old family farm back to life while simultaneously working full-time jobs and raising two kids. It's a gas!
